The Winning Personality

Personality is simply individual differences. It is our personality that makes human interactions interesting. We cannot expect all men to behave and reason alike. But we all demand good relations from our acquaintances.

Jesus said "Be perfect." This is an instruction not a suggestion. Our personality ought to be perfect though different.

A lot of people seek to free themselves of the consequences of bad behaviour by clinging to the personality line. They say "I am sorry but it is who I am." It is high time we stopped accepting such excuses because you can change who you are.

You can work on your personality. Your personality is not a sentence to a rigid life, your personality can be moulded to produce a better you.

The MOST important step that anyone can take in obtaining a perfect personality is to submit to God. God has a perfect personality and He is willing to replicate His nature in anyone who desires His life.

The evidence of an encounter with God is first spiritual and unseen, but secondarily it is physical and observable. No one can say he has been with God without a definate and noticiable change in personality.

If your personality is causing you trouble, it is time to make adjustments. In addition to the all important God factor, another approach of fine-tuning personality is what I term the SENSE APPROACH.

All humans beings have senses. The way we use or do not use our senses is key to how our personality is perceived. This approach beckons on all men to train their senses to lead them to a loveable personality.

1. SIGHT
The environment plays a major role in forming our personality. We are trained by nature to follow example. A person will likely throw dirt in an already dirty place than in a clean one. We have to train our eyes both inner and outward to see beauty not chaos. When we focus on the correct things our lives also will attract beauty.

2. HEARING
What are you listening to? Who are you listening to? Do you know that your mind plays back what you hear? Sometimes you can remember verbatim what somebody said to you 20 years ago. What you hear shapes the way you behave. Stop giving audience to the wrong people and start listening to positive words. Even faith comes by hearing.

3. SPEECH
Anyone that has no control of his mouth will continue running into problems. We have to train ourselves to speak with knowledge. It is not every time one should open his mouth. For people who are too shy to express themselves in words they can enrol in trainings for public speaking. We all need to speak well, when we open our mouth it gives a big hint to who we are inside.

4. TOUCH
Try never to get under anyone's skin. If people around you keep on complaining about your lack of sensitivity you need to change. Everyone needs space, train your self never to get into people's private life unless invited. You need also to understand body language and signs. Don't force yourself on people.

5. SMELL
I will link this to good looks and cleanliness. There is a way to dress to be eminent. This is not talking about cost but presentation. Your appearance is the first contact people have with you. If you look good and smell nice you have won at least 40% of the people to your side. To get the part you need to look the part.

HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU COUNT MONEY?

Recently, I had to make a lot of cash lodgments at the bank, and I proceeded to arrange and count the notes. I counted the various currency notes like three times and sorted them accordingly. When I got to the bank, the teller went to work, and I wasn’t surprised that the count was perfectly correct. The confidence was because I had double-checked the notes; the margin for error was very slim. In our Christian walk, we mustn’t be overly bold about our right standing in Christ if we haven’t examined ourselves again and again. 2 Cor. 13:5b says, “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves…” Test yourself! Are you standing, or are you just thinking that you are standing? When I counted the money the first time, I could have stopped, but I needed the certainty. I know that I am born again, but I need to examine my heart: is there something hidden there that shouldn’t be there? Once, I was speaking to a group of people, and the manner of my speech wasn’t in confo...

IF WE MUST BOAST

If we must boast, let us boast of the mercies of the LORD. Two students attend lectures and put in the same level of preparation; one scores an “A” and the other a “C”. Many explanations can be available, but when we hold all other things constant, mercy is the difference between men. I have written an exam before where I prepared diligently but got into the exam hall and misinterpreted the questions, writing the exact opposite of what was expected. After the exam, I had only one prayer: God, have mercy! In Acts 13, Paul and some other prophets separated themselves to fast and pray. Mercy spoke, and Paul and Barnabas were called into a special assignment. Were they better or more diligent than the others who were not called into that particular assignment? I don’t think so. Apostle Paul later told us that everything he did was a result of the grace of God. God’s mercy and grace are what enable us to achieve any kind of result in life. Let’s be careful how we think. Let’s be careful how...

3 Reasons Why You Need Jesus

1. There is an afterlife. Even people that do not believe in God have an unspoken assurance within them that there is an afterlife. In the afterlife there are two destinations, good (heaven) and bad (hell). Jesus is the ONLY way to the good part. 2. There is  war in this life. Everyone is at war! War within, war without, war amongst, war everywhere. The enemy (devil) that we wrestle knows he has limited time to wreck his havoc. Our enemy is relentless and brutal, he has no respect for positions and titles, he works wickedness everyday. The only name he fears is JESUS, you need Jesus to win every war, have rest, peace and lasting victory. 3. Spiritual Fulfilment. Human beings are mere branches to the Tree (God). No matter how hard we try to satisfy ourselves with other things, there is a deep ache in our hearts if we don't have a relationship with God. Jesus is the only fulfilling link to the Father. Jesus is our spiritual lifeblood. If we are ever going shed the spi...
