INDICATORS THAT YOU NEED A NEW CHURCH

It is not a sin to change church provided you are still in Christ. In fact you will likely fall into sin if you are worshipping in the wrong church.

Consider these things:

1. Lack of spiritual growth and drive.

When your spirit man is not been fed in word and worship, you need to move before you starve. If you are living in sin and sitting comfortably in church, you need a new church. If you are not challenged to conquer more land for Christ, you need to move on with haste.

2. Lack of opportunity to work.

Church attendance is good but it is elementary in the plan of God. God is looking for labourers not bench warmers. If you cannot seem to find grace to be attively involved in the work of the ministry, then you need to move. There are no credits for idleness, everyman must get involved.

3. Lack of restraint from church politics.

There are some people whose tables are the center of church affairs. Such people know everything about everything and everyone; in fact every disagreement starts and ends in their presence. If you are in this category, then you need to RUN for your life.

4. Lack of faith in the leadership.

If you don't believe in your pastor or have reservations about his calling, then don't waste your time and efforts - move! Your pastor is the principal human messenger of God to you. If you doubt the messenger, you cannot believe the message. If you believe the message, it cannot work for you.

5. Lack of personal development.

Church is for all round development. Don't become heavenly conscious and earthly useless. If you take stock of your life and can't identify substantial progress and personal achievement even after working confidently in the teachings then you need a new church.

P.S. God has a specific place for you. If things are not working where God has destined you to be, there is work for you to do. Don't move without hearing from God, stay and work if He asks you to stay. Don't go where God did not send you. STAY WHERE GOD HAS PUT YOU!

MERCY

It’s pulpit rotation Sunday. The guest minister mounted the podium as the church stood with a resounding applause. From the fifth row where he was Oke noticed the deep tribal lines on Pastor Obayemi’s cheeks, and his missing tooth was revealed as he led a worship song. “Oh! Not again!” Oke retorted under his breathe. “When will they stop sending unlearned preachers to us?” He touched his jeans to feel his phone. “It’s going to be a long service.” He turned and moved towards the exit. As we he was about to step outside, he heard the interpreter’s booming voice “Today we will be praying some strong prayers.” Oke proceeded out of the auditorium; phone in hand, a smirk on his face. From the toilet where he stood examining his phone, he could hear the roar of praying people. He was pacing back and forth, staring at the marble walls. He began to ramble about the toilet. “No one is online, even my ‘goons’ will be in church now. This is unfair! I wish I could leave.” He st...

KING SAUL: The Demand

After the death of Joshua and the elders of his generation, the children of Israel forgot the wonders, power and love of the Almighty God. They forsook the Living God and worshipped stone dead gods like the nations around them. They got into the anger book of God and were open to attacks by the enemy. They were sorely oppressed and they cried out. God remembered His promise and love towards Israel and He gave them JUDGES to deliver them out of oppression and to lead them back to righteousness. Thus began the era of the judges. Season after season the people returned to sin and God remained faithful in giving them judges. Years passed and the mantle of leadership fell on a prophet - Samuel. Samuel had a good reputation with God and the people. He judged the people in righteousness and wisdom. His tenure saw the Philistines subdued and cities restored to the Israelites. And there was peace in his days. The Demand Samuel grew old and made his sons judges. Unfortunately the sons of S...

Mistaken Identity

Nothing hurts more than when people take you to be something negative which you are not. If not handled properly it can dry the oil of motivation. Joseph had a DREAM but his brothers mistook him for a DREAMER. They said to one another, "...Behold, this dreamer cometh." (Genesis 37:19) Having a dream is NOT the same as being a dreamer. A dream is an appointment with destiny. A person who has a dream has an appointment that must be fulfilled. A dreamer is a person whose ideas and plans are not practical or based in reality. A dreamer is a joker. He talks about things he has no passion nor commitment to carry out. Joseph's brothers thought he was a dreamer. They were blinded by envy and driven by rage. They mistook their saviour for a serpent and tried to kill him, but God delivered Joseph out of their hands. Don't expect people to accept your dreams, They will call you a dreamer and it will hurt your feelings. They will try to bury your dreams but God will...
