Is it right to be angry at God?

There are many things that we do not understand about God yet that doesn't stop Him from being God. Why would go allow certain things to happen when He knows that it would hurt us sore?

Normally we trust God and we know He has supreme authority, added to this we know God is good all the time. This makes it even more puzzling to know that God watched on while the undesirable happened.

When bad things happen to good people there seems to be a silent justification for the persecuted to be angry at God. In such a state, the individual who knows certainly that he can't beat God decides to ignore Him or offend Him.

If the person chooses the ignore option, he boycotts church, refuses to pray, neglects his Christian devotion and basically avoid anything in the semblance of God.

If it is the offend option, such goes back to forsaken sin or/and new ones. In a bid to show God that they are annoyed they deliberately do things that are displeasing to Him.

But is anyone ever justified to be angry at God?

I say not! God has been before the beginning began. He is wiser, holier and stronger than we would ever be. But more importantly GOD NEVER MAKES MISTAKES.

Mary and Martha couldn't believe that Jesus did not show up before Lazarus died. They sure weren't happy but when they heard Jesus was in town they rushed out to meet Him. At the time they didn't think their brother would be resurrected yet they went out to Jesus.

Jesus even wept that Lazarus had to die. This means that Jesus weeps when you weep. In the end Lazarus was resurrected, everyone celebrated and Jesus was glorified.

It pays to trust in God even when things go sour. When you trust Him you will see Him resurrect your hope and joy.

Let's keep believing.
God is good all the time.

MERCY

It’s pulpit rotation Sunday. The guest minister mounted the podium as the church stood with a resounding applause. From the fifth row where he was Oke noticed the deep tribal lines on Pastor Obayemi’s cheeks, and his missing tooth was revealed as he led a worship song. “Oh! Not again!” Oke retorted under his breathe. “When will they stop sending unlearned preachers to us?” He touched his jeans to feel his phone. “It’s going to be a long service.” He turned and moved towards the exit. As we he was about to step outside, he heard the interpreter’s booming voice “Today we will be praying some strong prayers.” Oke proceeded out of the auditorium; phone in hand, a smirk on his face. From the toilet where he stood examining his phone, he could hear the roar of praying people. He was pacing back and forth, staring at the marble walls. He began to ramble about the toilet. “No one is online, even my ‘goons’ will be in church now. This is unfair! I wish I could leave.” He st...

KING SAUL: The Demand

After the death of Joshua and the elders of his generation, the children of Israel forgot the wonders, power and love of the Almighty God. They forsook the Living God and worshipped stone dead gods like the nations around them. They got into the anger book of God and were open to attacks by the enemy. They were sorely oppressed and they cried out. God remembered His promise and love towards Israel and He gave them JUDGES to deliver them out of oppression and to lead them back to righteousness. Thus began the era of the judges. Season after season the people returned to sin and God remained faithful in giving them judges. Years passed and the mantle of leadership fell on a prophet - Samuel. Samuel had a good reputation with God and the people. He judged the people in righteousness and wisdom. His tenure saw the Philistines subdued and cities restored to the Israelites. And there was peace in his days. The Demand Samuel grew old and made his sons judges. Unfortunately the sons of S...

Mistaken Identity

Nothing hurts more than when people take you to be something negative which you are not. If not handled properly it can dry the oil of motivation. Joseph had a DREAM but his brothers mistook him for a DREAMER. They said to one another, "...Behold, this dreamer cometh." (Genesis 37:19) Having a dream is NOT the same as being a dreamer. A dream is an appointment with destiny. A person who has a dream has an appointment that must be fulfilled. A dreamer is a person whose ideas and plans are not practical or based in reality. A dreamer is a joker. He talks about things he has no passion nor commitment to carry out. Joseph's brothers thought he was a dreamer. They were blinded by envy and driven by rage. They mistook their saviour for a serpent and tried to kill him, but God delivered Joseph out of their hands. Don't expect people to accept your dreams, They will call you a dreamer and it will hurt your feelings. They will try to bury your dreams but God will...
